When outputting what else do we need to be concerned about other than the file format?

Other than file format, what does resolution, aspect ratio, and bit rate have to do with an outputted video file?

Well, resolution is the quality of the image being displayed, if you want Hi-resolution files they will take up more space. Aspect ratio is the size of the image being displayed, standard aspect ratio for Low-res is 4:9 and standard aspect ration for Hi-res is 16:9. Bit rate sampling is how the file is sampling the colors being displayed on your monitor as according to the videos information. For example you can have a BD rip at 8-Bit sampling or at 10-Bit sampling, this allows for more colors being used with the reference file to be create a closer experience to that of the raw footage.

You need to know all of the setting of your video before you output it. The resolution, aspect ratio, and bit rate greatly affect the quality of your video. If your setting are too high and you want to put your video on youtube you won’t be able to. If they are too low and you make a DVD your video will look like crap.
