The slide tool moves a clip left or right in the timeline while simultaneously adjusting other clips to compensate. The duration of the target clip stays the same, the durations of clips either side are automatically reduced or increased as required.

The slide tool helps you adjust the clip from left to right while also adjusting the in and out points to the adjacent clips. All this does is move your clips position in the movie sequence.

The Slide Tool is used to adjust a particular clip within its adjacent clips, without changing the clip’s duration. How it works is that with the selected clip, you can slide the to which frame you want and the clip’s overall duration will not be altered. However, the In and Out points of the adjacent clips are the (edit points)ones that will change. The Out Point of the clip on the left of the selected clip will change, along with the In Point of the clip on the right.

The slide tool moves the clip that you are inserting so that it will be to the right or left of the existing clips. This will help you save time so that you don’t have to move each clip individually when you decide to put something in between existing clips in the sequence.

The slide tool moves a clip left or right in the timeline while simultaneously adjusting other clips to compensate. The duration of the target clip stays the same, the durations of clips either side are automatically changed. It kinda slides everything around instead of just one clip.

Slide tool is used to shift a clip left or right along the Timeline while trimming adjacent clips to compensate for the move. The Out Point of the clip to the left and the In Point of the clip to the right are trimmed by the amount of frames by which you slide the clip.
